Erika Meler

DVM, IPSAV, CEAV, MSc, MVSc, Dipl ACVIM (SAIM), Dipl ECVIM-CA

Erika is Senior Lecturer and registered Veterinary Specialist in Small Animal Internal Medicine at the University of Queensland. She did her vet school in France where she grew up and her specialisation at Purdue University in the USA. Erika has practiced both as a GP and as a specialist in private practice and in academia and understands well both aspects of the job in these very different environments. Erika enjoys working in academia for the variety activities it offers, from formal to clinical teaching to research and the practice of subspecialised clinical activities such as minimally-invasive techniques. Her other interests include antibiotic resistance in small animals and veterinary practice management and veterinary economics.
