Laura Bennington

BSc

Laura graduated Napier University in Edinburgh in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Veterinary Nursing. She spent several years working in first opinion small animal practice throughout the UK before moving to Australia in 2015 and beginning her journey into the emergency and critical care side of the industry. Having always had a passion for critical care nursing, Laura was able to develop her practical skills and become an ECC specialist nurse after completing her Certificate in Emergency and Critical Care Veterinary Nursing through Vets Now Ltd in 2019. In 2018 Laura was made a team leader of the ICU at Animal Referral Hospital in Melbourne where she mentors junior ECC nurses and ensures gold standard care of her patients. Laura is currently undergoing the application process to become a Veterinary Technician Specialist in emergency and critical care with the Academy of Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care Technicians and Nurses in the USA. Laura has a huge passion for teaching and empowering veterinary nurses and runs regular CE events to help them gain knowledge and build confidence in their skills. In her spare time Laura loves partaking in aerial sports, looking after her array of foster animals, and exploring new parts of Australia with her partner David in their converted campervan.
